Guadalupe in the Guest Room by Tony Meneses
After a 15-year hiatus from the theater, I took the role of Guadalupe in Water Tower Theatre's production of Guadalupe in the Guest Room. It is a beautiful look at two people from different countries who don't speak the same language, but have the death of their loved one in common. Through watching telenovelas together, they learn to communicate, connect and move forward with their lives. It is both heartwarming and hilarious and allows us to see the perspective of a Mexican woman trying to get along in a world she has little to no voice in. You'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll leave feeling full of love and joy.
